Howz my weekend?

Friday-Poured cats and doggies on the way home, skipped painting the town red. My tiny little brolly almost gone blown away. Caught a couple DVDs', endulging in some quiet time. So here's a quick DVD review :

Full Metal Jacket- Go watch it ,you maggots!

Little Miss Sunshine- simple, low budget with a light hearted plot. Appreciate a good storyline. I still think VWs' wagons are rad.

Saturday- Went jalan jalan at little India...how ethnic. Soaking in the sights and sounds( not to mention aromas) of the place, had a South and North Indian meal with all the works at Sree Sagar. Adjourned to Mustafa Center...they sell pretty much every goddarn thing there is to sell. Checked out the Desker Road 'babes'. Good to see some things don't change. Headed down to Old Bedok Road for some Chent Tng but found out they were closed. DRAT! Plan B was Blooie's down at Jalan Tua Kong for a pool outing. Still haven't lost my pool skills.

Sunday- Spend some time at the Asian Civillizations Museum. Pity we didnt wear red, or else we could have saved on the admission charges. Mystery Men of China was on exhibit. ooooooooo..... Not particularly interested in archeological atifacts from prehistoric China, but enjoyed some of the performances going on. There was an mythical Indian one with the rapid eye and eyebrow movement. It hurts....cause silly me went to try to replicate them. cool. Caught the Thai ensemble from the NUS. Cool. Pity the locals made up for less than 10% of the crowd...if i could call it a crowd. Went down to Central-yeap...yet another shopping mall situated at the Clarke Quay MRT station. Lotsa shops yet to open, but had some fab Ramen at Muratama Ramen. I'm glad to see more up and coming authentic Japanese Ramen places opening in SG. Their's was a chicken based broth(flavorful yet light enough for the palate), and most importantly, the ramen was cooked al dente. Had mine with Kakuni Buta(stewed pork in sweet mirin and shoyu). And the kakuni was definitely done ala Nippon. Tender, juicy with a delectable amount of fat. Wish I had pics. Dessert- Azabu Sabo's Hokkaido Ice Cream. I had a black sesame while Pokey had the Green tea. Plopped ourselves on the steps along the SG river and watched the world go by. Lovely.

Howz yours?
