Smellin' like Tide

HOLY FREAKIN CRAP....

No idea how it happened...but the whole bottle of Tide Laundry Detergent( the COSTCO sized one) dropped onto the floor and the cap broke. Now there's a nice little pool of blue TIDE detergent on the carpet. The house smells like fresh laundry, I smell like fresh laundry, along with all the rags and sponges I used to try soak it up. CRAP.

Anyone has ideas on how to remove this particular carpet stain, do leave me a note. I hate carpets...get a freakin dog, cat, sheep or anything fluffy for that matter if you wanna feel something soft at your feet. Oh...I forgot you have that millions of dust mites habitating in the carpet for pets already...

So close yet so far

It's been a while...yeah i know, i know... Trust me, I haven't gotten lazy at my blog yet but it's just that I've been putting in my 110% at the workplace. Absolut Zero complaints and I'm really proud to say I'm bringing this place out of the rut and taking it to the nezt level. We've been swamped since Friday...phew...

Even to the smallest things like getting some drainage and plumbing done( which is gross and should have been done back in 1965) or to the simplest stuff like getting new sink stoppers...I gotta...or should I say I got a feeling that my peeps respect me for it. I get down and dirty with the rest, and my lovely aloha shirt is not spared the coconut syrup residue and strawberry topping overflow...Trust me, I deal with a lot of shit but somehow I try to keep myself upbeat and sane...and the peeps see it and recognise it...so job well done I guess...

In fact, been getting lots of return guests who really appreciated the hospitality, which to me, is all that matters. I don't get the tips anyway...i've gotten over it...It's all about PASSION I say. Anyways, been stuck here with a 2 bedroom apartment all by myself for the past 3 days and it sucks...feels lonely. Don't think I ever wanna face that in my later years. Am I getting old I wonder...eeeeks.

Yup...I do miss my poopie and I'll pick you up friday if all goes well on your side...and I've been a good boy...or have I??? nyuk nyuk...

haha....miss you lots if you're reading this...and yes...maybe I'm half drunk after 3 bud lights and a pauhana drink with the peeps...see you soon.

Idiotic Server Resposes Part 1

I happen to overhear one of my servers yesterday while she was walking past a couple of tables...

Table of 5: "Can we order another....?"
Immediate Server Response(stopping guest abruptly): " You're not in my section!"
Manager's thoughts: "Who gives a FLYING F**K(mind my french-but stuff like that really...Imean REALLY pisses me off) whether or not it's your section??? Can't you spend a little over 8 seconds of your goddamn time to help them and then relay the message over to the other guy in that section? Do guests really care less about what section of YOUR workplace you're in??? Need I remind you we all work under the same 'umbrella'???

Well...to cut the story short. That eventually lead to a nifty little complaint and guess who had to clear up the mess? Shit...

We all had the same similar form of situation happened to us at a dining facility from time to time, that's why I never hold myself back from blasting at a service person who does that wherever I eat and drink at. Neither do I have any qualms about 'letting go' at my guys when they do that...

I'm so sorry sorry for stepping over the border of your section...NUMBSKULL!

Imagine if you heard the same shit while in the E.R. of a hospital...the bed you're in is not in my section...I'm not able to call the doctor cuz you're breathless and dying in 15 seconds.

Nothing malicious but I hope it happens to all idiotic service people out there. You culprits out there reading this blog know who you are...

Recognising Intoxication

Part of my daily work revolves around bumming off intoxicated peeps who had one too many for their own good. Liquid courage aka liquid stuuuupid. Ever since taking on a profession at a place of plentiful booze(what seems to be paradise for most), you seem to have a lot more discipline to cut yourself off when downing the stuff. (After work of course). That's when I knew my days of chug-a-lug and shots that were lit on fire were over. Urgh. I see Jekyll and Hyde types every other night. They walk in all sane, cheery and nice at first; thereafter their inner 'beauty' takes form of a beast after one too many. Funny how alcohol affects your brains, even funnier when you're laughing at their antics. Not so funny if you gotta cut them off and send them home however....

Recognising intoxication according to the good folks at liq com:

Asians get real red...like ripe plums, and the men think they're at some hostess bar..
Haoles think they rule the world...a bad mix politics, patriotism and booze...
Local Bruddahs start getting loud, some start playin the 'air-ukelele', others wanna pick fights...
Europeans...hmm...I must say they are pretty calm bunch...
Military peeps...sure they serve the country but have you gotta puke all over my bar tables every other chance you get? HOO-RA

Nuff' said...

back to work

Spent the last 3 days not dealing with any crap...now it's back to work. NOT that I hate my job or anything...but you know you got plenty crap to clean up in your INBOX after 3 days off.

Going in today to "counsel" this sly broad from New York(one of my employees) about the consequences of insubordination. Apparently she took me for a fool last Friday, and got away with 2 days off at somebody's expense. She'd asked my big boss and got a 'NO'. The sly bitch then came to ask me after, and I thought it was feasible and gave the thumbs up. Shit....

Anyway, to cut that story short...I'm prepping my vocal cords right now for discipline 101 session later. If not for the Union, I would be quoting the overused line from Donald Trump's reality show...oops or did he got that copyrighted already?
