Sunday Funday

Nope-still havent got a chance to get the USB cable for the cam. Will make do with Poop's cam for now.

What little time I have to spare is nowadays spent fruitfully with Poops. Amidst the crazy 10-12 hours shifts and phone calls from the workplace at the wee hours of the night, I take much solace in forgetting everything else during my days(or day) off. The nature of the job allows for frugality(not by choice), with little time to part with the hard earned dollars during the work week. Therefore, I'm allowed to spoil myself for 4 days in a month. I don't believe in retail therapy(because I haven't much WANTS+I dislike shopping), enjoying instead on the simpler pleasures of life such as filling my stomach. And I can afford to, because in the recent months I've lost about 5-6 kg.

Last Sunday saw us having a craving for pancakes...I was going off on the lack of IHOPS(International House of Pancakes) around asia and with that began the search for pancakes. Low and behold, Swensons were the onl neighbourhood joint where you could find some.(only on the weekends though). Not too bad a deal too, 2 eggs any style, 2 sausages, 2 pancakes, coffee and juice for 5-6 bucks. So, the craving was satisfied, and with that, the pancake craving will only resurface until next year....

Not as fluffy as IHOP, but it will do

Poops had her blueberry ones of course....

Went down Orchard a little while later, and caught the pint sized street busker, Ethan Ong. This kid is GOOD!!! Probably the next prodigy in the making. Who said you had to play the violin or the piano to make it???

Donuts are my weakness...Choosing them is a major task...

Hmmm....didn't get any in the end.....

More days at the kaiten...The crap sushi ritual continues.

Dessert du jour features tau huay(bean curd)...only at Rochor Road of course

Nothing beats seating in some back alley and eating your delicious bowl of soft goodness....

Till next time...sipppp.....

SBS gran prix

SBS is going to have a fee hike soon... Reasons to the increase is due mainly to the rising fuel costs and operating costs in general. Am I all glee about the fare hike, NO. Much as I understand fuel costs is at its all time high and we're slowly depleting our fossil fuels gallon by gallon, so it's understandable. It's troubling to think we still so reliant on fossil fuel even decades after the industrial revolution with little hope of speeding up technological advancements on alternative fuels to power the world....but i guess I'll just leave that blog post when WE ACTUALLY RUN OUT OF CRUDE OIL. I hope it'll never happen in my lifetime.

So yea....the fare hike. Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying more. But send all the bloody drivers for retraining and the how-to's to drive the bus in a safe manner for the benefit of passengers. Becasue after all...the bus does carry passengers, and most(if not all) bus drivers I've come across so far drive as though they were the only ones in the bus. For the love of Pete!!! YOu are not driving your personal vehicle.

Faults of the common bus-driver:
1) Sudden and very abrupt stops when coming to a stop-light, bus-stop, or a traffic jucntion. YOU BLOODY WELL know you have to stop and YOU CAN SEE IT COMING, so can I urge you to stop GRADUALLY instead of flinging all standing passengers in tow....Those seating actually have to hold on to something to prevent them from getting flung out their seats.
2) Don't tell me you cannot stop gradually because the brakes are like that...(lor). It's a goddamn Mercedes, a marvel in German engineering...and I'm glad to know the brakes actually work.
3) Let old ladies and younger people seat down prior to moving off. Is that so hard. The poor old folks can risk their bones breaking because you want to keep to your non-existent bus schedule.
4)Every trip to anywhere seem to be the maximum fare you quote when a tourist boards the bus. Do you get commission or somethin'?
5)I can't imagine when we get the handicap busses on the road in full operations. Likewise, I want to reiterate the need to stop gradually when coming to a stop. They are already handicapped, I'm sure they don't want any further handicaps.
6)Be a little more helpful with providing directions, your help helps. Instead of :"This bus no stop here lah." or "Take from another side"

I guess I have no choice to pay for the fare increase, but if only a portion could be used to retrain some of our idiot bus drivers with our world class transportation(i fully agree), to go for some retraining on their driving skills(or the lack of it) and being a little more civic-minded.

aiyah...where my USB camera cable?

Ok..so I promised all of you some pictures but I seem to have lost my USB cable for the camera....either that or it's in the Northeast of the island. So, you guys will just have to sit tight and wait till I get my replacement cable.

Here's the good news, you get to read my shit after a long while being missing in action from blogoshere. I bet you missed it dun'cha?

Updates, updates and more read all about its....

The past month was filled with what else? WORK WORK WORK AND MORE WORK....Off days were short and hard to come by, and the hours spent toiling the juice factory seemed endless. Despite the lack of staffing, (which we are still short of), we pulled through and managed to open two stores in a matter of 1 month. Looking back, I still find it incredible and hard to believe. Operations wise, it still has many a rough edge to be smoothen out. Then again, this will take time. So far so good....the juice concept is being well received by the general public with a steady intake of revenue. So, hopefully my paycheck will get JUICIER in time to come as well. In the process of opening another one in the CBD area in September, which is heck not that far away. After which will focus on looking for more possible and viable locations for the upcoming year.

Blah blah blah....boring stuff. That's about it I guess...oh...and I've been shooting wheatgrass shots on a daily basis. Good stuff...I've not been sick, been having a smooth time with No.2(if you know what I mean)...and feeling somewhat energised at work. So don't really know if it's the healing effects of the chlorophyll or not but I'm just getting my slice of the intrinsic perks not officially offered by the company. Nyuk.

Till next time. Anyone wanna go SIM LIM SQUARE to buy USB just give me a buzz. SIM LIM SQUARE is like COMPUSA for those who are not Singaporeans....Laterz.
